Sunnyside, WA | 3 pt is much faster to hook up with a quick hitch on the tractor. All tractors on our place have a quick hitch and I wouldn't be without them.
Most every planter here is 3 pt with all the furrow irrigation in the area. Can't have headlands to turn on unless you want to do a lot of shoveling for the furrows.
3 pt is also a choice if you are using auto steer and have hills. Greatly reduces side drift. There were times with a pull type on some hills I would have to have the tractor up to 3 feet more up the hill to get a trailing planter to plant on the mark. | |
