Subject: Re: powerstroke turbo failed

Walnut Grove MN USA
don't know if an aftermarket turbo is available, I'm sure one is. Warranty by law cannot be voided just because aftermarket parts are used UNLESS the failure is directly caused by the aftermarket parts. Now if a aftermarket turbo is installed and 6 months from now the engine goes to hell then it comes down to wether Ford will agree that the turbo caused the problem or not. It would have to be pretty cut and dried for them to not blame the turbo. If that engine is still under warranty then it won't cost $1800. If warrantee won't stand it I would take the truck and walk out to the next dealer. If that don't work get a truck with an engine that don't need much warrantee work (Cummins).
