Sounds a little crazy, i would say the start of the problem may have been the main pump stroke control valve, when you lost drive maybe the engagment overide valve was activated no problem with that normal, the only thing that fails in a p/s charge pump is the key and that was only in early 50 series, ask the techs to remove the stroke control valve easy done 1 1/4 socket turn steering too the right the stroke control valve is the one with the 3/4 nut and 7/32 allen screw pull it out flush with cleaner put a little clean grease on the valve then push it up the fit the guide spring washer and nut start the machine and check the pressure. I guess i should have said the tech should check the charge to the front pump first to ensure their is not a problem with the pump they put in i hope you have taken it to a person who knows about deeres
