ND
We run a Concord hoe drill so rolling before the drill wouldn't work for us. I've never seen anybody in our area roll before seeding, but I've heard of people trying it when using a disk drill. I've heard rumors that it's possible to pack the seed in too tight and I've often thought it could be possible, specially when going over ridges and other uneven areas where only a few feet of the drum are touching the ground. That's alot of weight on a small area of ground. Luckily we've never experienced any visible damage or heard of anyone else in the area having problems.

How quickly do the rocks push up through the ground in your fields by doing no tillage at all? We'd have a lot less rocks on top of our ground if we were using a disk drill instead of a hoe drill.
