If the accumlator on a Deere combine is not an accumulator then I guess I must not know what one is. It fits your description almost perfectly except I believe it has a bladder instead of a piston. I may be wrong on that, haven't had one apart, but judging by the older one's shape and construction I don't know how they could have a piston in them.
Welding air tank advice.
