Subject: RE: M&W 450 Dryer Opinions ??

Hanska, Minnesota
I have one. It does not like to stop and start alot. It tends to get some wet corn followed by over dried corn every time I stop it. Let it run all day and no problem. The meetering rolls are ajusted with a verible belt drive with I found to be real hard to set with any consistantly. Always planed to upgrade the roll drive to a verible motor off another drier but have not gotten that far yet. Exelent grain quality and dumps close to air temprature wich is real nice if you dont have bins with full floors. capasity in excess of 500 bu hr at 10pts . Mine is 1000 rpm pto drive and takes a fair amount of power to run. Book calls for 70 hp smallest I've had on it was 105 hp. Local elect supplier has had the few parts I've needed. Little boxes that plug in (relay)? Not sure what they are called. I have no idea where to look for other parts such as burners clutches or ??? I paid $500 for it in almost new condition. good luck.
