Eastern Iowa | Currently we are picking cattle manure (mostly solid, very very little liquid) up from a farmer who is about 4 miles from us in our spreader, hauling it home with the spreader, spreading it, driving 4 miles back to the cattle lot and repeating the process. We just don't seem to get enough manure moved in a day. We are looking for ideas on how to transport large loads of manure home, dump it, and then head back for the next load. Then at a later date we would load our side slinger spreader from the pile we made at home and spread it across fields. I'm afraid that an old dump truck could turn into a money pit for as little as we would use it. Any ideas out there on how to make a cheap manure transporter capable of hauling large loads? We could use the four wheel drive tractor if necessary to pull it so horsepower shouldn't be an issue. | |
