Something like that works just fine until the relief cannot flow the amount of oil that you're wanting to push over it. An accumulator does not have such a valve restricting flow in order to accomplish the same thing. Plus, in the end, the header comes back to its original position so that you don't have to lift it back up like you would with a relief.
