Fort Smith, AR | I have found the best way for me to filter fryer oil is with a restraunt cone filter. From a restraunt supply purchased the cone used for $12.00 and pack of 50 cone filters for $12.50, they recommend using the filters double, I use them single and purchased a second cone to filter it twice.
The oil has to be warm, in summer setting it in the sun will warm it, in winter I made a rack and hotplate. Have aquired metal 5 gal buckets from a local cabinet shop. In summer plastic buckets are fine to use.
You may find www.flinthillsdiesel.com an interesting site.
Just remembered a friend has been using pantyhose to filter his oil.
