What we do............maybe not the most correct way to do it.........but we've got a 4450 that has 14,000 hours that has never been opened up for anything, and a 4440 that went 17,000 hours before it was overhauled so something must be ok. EVERYTHING gets a new air filter once a year. Feeding tractors get blown out once every month or so when we are feeding due to the ground hay. Big tractors get blown out after spring work and a new filter before the next spring. Combines get blown out between crops, and the grain cart tractor will let you know when it needs blown out.......usually about every 2 weeks during harvest. Mostly all of our tractors have the secondary filters. You're gettin what you paid for.
