Subject: Ok, the final decision...

Talked at length to a local wholesaler that has many years of experience with alternative forages. Researched the net for his suggestions and came up with BMR Sorghum/Sudangrass hybrid. We decided for the ground it's going on, the time before frost, intended use (growing beef calves/feeding mamas), feed quality, and tonnage, it was the best choice.

Planted it yesterday, along with 100 units of N. Disked twice, rolled, drilled, rolled again. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

FYI the University of NY at Cornell has some excellent resource material on the subject.  So does UC-Davis. My own Cyclone research University (Iowa State) seems to lag in that category.  They didn't have much material on Sorghum/Sudangrass .
