The seal on the 540 shaft has to be replaced from the inside out. And the seal on the 1000 shaft can be replaced from the outside. If you disasemble the pto unit, take care to cage the spring that is under the clutches. The bolts that take a 18 mm socket are the only ones that need to come out to remove the unit. The 19 mm bolts hold the unit sections together.
