Subject: Sounds like you're right on time

Charlie's got one he bid, then found out he was just used to price out the project, then they had him rebid a reduced version, told them he had to have the go ahead by mid July or the bid is void. They are still stringing him along, claim they can't get a building permit. I really think they are waiting to see if they will need it or not and just using him. Pi$$'s me off the way big companies try to treat you.

Did get one bit of good news. He was bummed when he lost a bid to clear about 20 acres, build what they called all weather roads for semi's, a couple of large barn pad fills and 2 ponds. They told him they wanted it done right. He bid it to take off the top soil and pile it, bring in crusher run for the road base, AB3 on top to seal it, build up the barn pads with clay, running a sheeps foot to pack it, top it with packed lime dust. That's what he thought was doing it right.

They got another bid for half of what his was and wanted him to meet it. You know how that went. We found out from some people near there a couple weeks ago that they built the ponds without putting a key under the dam and they say water is seeping. They built the roads by just trucking AB3 and spreading it out of the back of the truck, no base, no ditches. The barn pads they built entirely out of dirt and they didn't even pack it. They have only cleared enough trees to do the roads and barns and then piled it up by the road, lit it on fire one evening and went home. Fire jumped across the road and burnt the neighbors barn down. They still have not finished the rest of the clearing.

Sure is nice to know when the guy who undercut you screws up.
