No real experience with these tractors, but I would address item 3 from the basics of anything with MFD/MFWD, that simply being that you "must" maintain the ratio between rear drives and the front tires. If you are going to opt for a smaller front, then you need to also size the rear to maintain the ratio of the drive. Ignoring that will present real problems in loading in the drive train that will eventually lead to things you can spend lots of Benjamin's on. Usually the operators manual will give you the tire size combinations that can be used to maintain the ratio.

I know first hand of a guy that tried to save money, as he had a Stieger that had 30.5x32's on it, and had bought a combine with the same tire, or so he thought. Anyway, he pulled the new tires off the combine, and bought two other tires to redo the rubber on the Stieger, then put the used tires off the Stieger of the combine. Problem was, that combine came with 30.5 x 32 "low profiles" on it, not a true 30.5 x 32. The rolling radius between those tires and the new full tires he purchased took out the front planetaries, and both differentials on that tractor. Swapping the other tires to the combine caused him to have problems with loss, cause he didn't re-level the combine, as in lower the rear axle so it raised the rear of the machine to make up for raising the front of the machine. After all the repair work was done, the bill was equal to several sets of new tires. There are times things need to be thought out further than trying to save a few dollars.
