| If you can use a gear head and not need any other power at the well site go that direction is much more cost effective to use a gear head on a well to pump water, my cousin has a setup like you are talking, using a Gen set to generate power to run a submersible well and it is very inefficient because you first have to generate the power from diesel a little loss there and then use the electricity to pump the water again losing efficiency where with a gear head the power is transferred directly from the fly wheel to the pump much more efficient.
