| We have a loader on a 8910, basically the same animal as your 7240. We move roughly 20,000 square and round bales a year with this tractor, no problem for the tranny. But, everything else takes one hell of a beating, the front axle pivots get replaced twice a year minimum sometimes three.
The shifter in the cab severly wears the slots, needs to be replaced once a year.
I keep an inventory of cables handy for this tractor.
Cab door gets beat pretty bad from all the in and out.
Tractor had a foot throttle, took that stupid thing off, always binding and would not let the tractor return to idle.
Changing the oil is a regular beitch, loader frame is in the way bigtime.
About the only reason we keep the loader on the tractor is to do farm to farm delivery and pickup of bales.
Cycle times are very slow compared to a wheel loader or big skidsteer.
Spend some time finding a nice used wheel loader or skidsteer, you will be much happier in the end. My .02 | |
