I think for a square wave, the peak and RMS values are the same.

Without wanting to seem like a nit-picking pencil-neck, the "1.41414" value should be 1.414213562..., and comes from the square root of 2. The flip-side way of determining RMS from peak voltage is to multiply the peak voltage by 0.707106781... (the square root of 2 divided by 2). The "..." after both numbers is used to signify that the square root of 2 is irrational, meaning not quantifiable in less than an infinite number of digits. Again, I'm picking nits, but that's where the 1.414 and 0.707 come from.

 

If we keep getting all these electrical questions, we're gonna need a formula editor for this BBS. ;-)
