I've had a JD finger, JD vac, and currently own a CIH 1200 ASM. The JD finger had the best seed spacing, but the CIH ASM is pretty close. The JD vac seemed to have the worst spacing and required the most tweaking to get the population nailed for each seed size. The main upside to the CIH ASM is that there is basically no maintenence and you can plant any seed size with no adjustment required.
