Subject: Re: Best Planter For Corn?

Martinsville, Ohio
I would look for a new seed dealer and get the sizes I want. I refuse to plant junk seed, especially on size. Too much good seed out there.

I would also rebuild the Kinze, good as any out there unless you have so many acres to plant and need the depreciation for a new one.

I cannot go buy the planter I need so I would rather rebuild a used one to my specs.

Personally I would drive 200 miles to service the White because I rarely need parts. The Kinze will do as well as the White if you build it right.

The Deere vacuum is a good planter, it just takes more attention and servicing to keep it planting as well as it should. I have a client who has one, we plant a lot of plots on his farm and it is about the easiest to handle for plot planting. I would switch to it if I wanted to spend that kind of money, it is easier to plant plots with than my old 5100 White. He has better soils but I can stick with him on yield.
