Subject: $125,000 for Gerringhoff ??

Glenville, MN
Where did you come up with 125k for a 12 row Gerringhoff?? I was pricing one out this summer and you could own one with all the bells and whistles 80,000 cash. I have talked to a few people and have heard mixed reviews. Problems with them holding up over the season, price of parts, customer service, power consumption and wieght in the bigger heads. I have also heard a lot of good things and it is a great way to become more efficent and save some money in the long run. Later in the season when the stalks get tough all chopping heads will pull much harder and not chop as well as when the stalks were green. With the large corn crops and the tough stalks with all the bt technology chopping stalks is a necissary evil to get most rippers through all the residue in our area. I was very impressed with the cat chopping head at the farm progress show it blew away all the other chopping heads.
