| Hi, I have a 3 point Brady model 700, 9 shank chisel plow. I'm grew up on a farm and now grow 7 acres of vegetalbles. I want to use this chisel to go about 12 inches deep this fall. I've got a JD 720 Diesel, putting out only 60 HP, and it will take the chisel plow 7-8 inches deep with all 9 shanks, but I want to use it to go deeper, so I will go down to 4 or 5 shanks. I will most likely go over it twice to get good depth and fracture. WOndering how to space the shanks to get the best job done. The rear tires are set at 78 inches to the outside. SHould I set 4 shanks at 24 inches apart? Or should I set them farther/closer? Do you think 4 or 5 is the ticket? Any ideas? and no, I dont want to hire a neighbor to do the work with his 8650.
Thanks! | |
