Subject: RE: Any New Holland TG fans out there..TG255

Chebanse, IL.....

We had a TG 255. Had an MX240 before that. In my opinion, the TG is the far superior tractor. Many of the components are identical, but not all. Much of the cab electronics is different. Hood is much thinner on TG allowing better visibility. Both the TG & MX have a playground size cab compared to JD. The transmission in the TG is more akin to the older Genesis (now Buhler) than to the CIH MX. For one thing-TG has single shifting lever while MX continues to insist on shuttle shift. TG retains the xmission programmability of the Genesis, while MX gives no choices.

Hydraulics are similar, though TG carries the mega-flow dual pump ratings while I'm not sure MX has them-though maybe they've started now. Front-side-cab-rear lights are better on TG. Seats are the same. Cab has same dimensions.

Supersteer belongs to TG (same as Genesis) and it's much better than MFD of MX. 3pt hitch is the same. TG has multitude of heater/ac outlets on panel & floor. MX didn't. Some don't like the hood design of the TG. It's very practical it seemed to us. No need to open hood doors. Frt weights were removable as one piece w/both tractors. Engines were pretty much the same. TG gave much better engine/performance instrumentation w/computers.
