If it is a "dead lock" stall that requires reversing the knife, there is always the possibility that there is a defective gaurd that allows the section to get caught within the gaurd structure.

Alternatively, it could be a pump-motor problem. A neighbour had an older 36' that required a high enough pressure on the pump to run that the pump failed. New pump, new motor and he was back in business.
