Grinding off that tip is fine. No problem. But-then you have to buy a new pilot point bit....right? Assuming you like them in the 1st place. I'm not sure if DeWalt makes conventional angled bits or not. So-no, you don't have to throw it away, but you just don't have the pilot point anymore.

Also-have you guys found that totally regrinding the angle on bits takes a pretty good toll on the little wheel inside the Drill Dr? It takes a while too if it's much above a 3/8" bit.

So-again, how do you sharpen the DeWalts w/the pilot point?
