Subject: RE: Anyone using CMC bins

South-central Nebraska
I spoke with a rep this afternoon. They use mostly GSI bins but will retrofit any existing bin. For example on a 48' diameter bin you can fill it 20 feet deep with 25% corn. You will have three 30hp fans running for up to a month, lowering the moisture to 15. Then you can fill it on up. If a guy had a whole bunch of this set-up it would be advantageous, but to only gain harvesting 30-35K bushels of wet corn for the 30 days doesn't seem great.

Of course, the rep told me that by building one CMC set up then converting others will more than pay for lost yield, dry matter given up. There is logic either way. The CMC set up runs around .30 to .50 per bushel more than a regular set up. Our first issue would be enough power supply.
