Subject: RE: Problems with 1020 head

NC Missouri
I've welded triangular bracing in the A-frame with very good luck preventing future breaking. Shaking can be caused from bad A-frame bushings, wobblebox not bolted tight, sicklehead worn, arm on bottom of oil-bath wobblebox worn and angle iron under skid plates near wobblebox broke allowing skid plates to skake. Quess you could have internal wobble box play but not normal on oil bath unit. I always "wobble" drive pulley on wobble-box each morning during harvest to make sure no excessive play and to determine where potential problem is.
