Subject: RE: Header stops while in use

SW Saskatchewan
The header stopping had been a real problem for us on our 2188 combines. I would agree that the seat switch and the header cut-out switch should be checked to see that they are mounted properly and are operating correctly. Also check all the wiring to make sure connections are clean and prperly connected.

I have found as I get older and stiffer, I often shift in the seat to get comfortable after a long day--once or twice I have had the header shut down because I was no longer sitting squarely on the seat switch.

We also used to get an error message on the display indicating a ground failure when the header failed to work, also we were plagued by failures of other components to engage so we were forced to replace the mother boards in the computer beneath the shift lever- pricey, about 600.00$ cad per combine but the later version mother boards have been more stable and except for not sitting on the switch, we have been trouble free for the past three years.

Have a good one.
