they still are technically made, just not a lot of them. You can find a lot of good deals on these units if you look a little bit.
The biggest downfall of this unit in corn was you needed small to medium round seed, PERIOD. If you used anything else you would crack the kernels. The test plots that I did with these units were pretty impressive in how well they did singulate if you used the right seed. And I am still convince that twin rows is the way to plant milo and corn. I was amazed at the plant vigor and health of the twins vs 30's. This unit worked fairly well if you were a combination farmer, wheat-beans-corn-milo. I know a few machines down here in KS that are still running and the guys are fairly happy. They were a tempermental beast and cost a lot of skin fingers changing discs.
They have evolved this initial design into there yield pro, but you cant plant wheat with it now.
