Subject: RE: Kochia seed for sale...

SW Saskatchewan
Kochia has been sold for many things, starting as that garden ornamental, "summer Cypress" back in the 50's. In the 80's , the quick guys were selling 'Texas Kochia" whose seed was "supposedly" sterile.

It has been harvested as a hard times forage for winter feed, much like russian thistle was in the 30's.

Full of nitrates, oxalates and other minerals, especially sodium and sulphates.

Sure to cause loose bowels in any cow, may cause birth defects if too high a proportion of winter feed , and could be responsible for deaths from nitrate or other toxicity, especially if sulphate high water is all thats available for water.

But a climate too dry for kochia- that I have got to see!
