They will not do it on my 06. I had it done on the 03 when I bought it. Been to 7 dealers on the 06, Bitched at GM since I bought it. They say the ONLY way they will do it is with a DOCTORS order. I told them that they have lost a good costomer. I've only got 20 chevys on the farm.
They claim the goverment MANDATED the auto locks. I asked them then why didn't the "plain jane" models also have them then?
Do you have a 06 dodge?
I also am wondering IF they are Mandatory on the 1 tons or if they might be considered Commerical & don't need them.
But I'd just tell ANYONE buying that didn't like the auto locks to WRITE on the PO that they have to be disabled. & refuse to take it home till they were disabled. I'd bet GM/others wouldn't like the missed sales too long.
Too damm many people out there trying to make a job for themselves. Esp in GOVERMENT.
