Subject: RE: What Do You Mean?

Well, four years ago we purchased 6 8900's, 2 are 8910's and 4 are 8920's. On 5 of the 6 the mid range clutch pack failed, the 6th one is still happy but it is used for loader work, go figure?

We do our own tranny and engine work, and discovered that the mid range clutch packs have two less friction disc and steel plates compared to the 7100's that we have worked on.

Also when ordering parts for the 7100 series trans, the spacer plate for the clutch assemblies has a new number that changes to the same thicker plate that is used on the 89's to displace the 2 friction and steel plates. Gotta love the new " Sell more parts" mentality at CNH.

Hope this helps explain dumbed down, I cant really compare the 30's, 40's and 50's of the different series.
