A couple of years ago, I put 1 1/4" glued pvc water line in for a half mile. Going down one sandy hill with the trencher kept collapsing as you stated. Nickman's from Kearney Nebraska came with a D8 to pull it in. They put the pvc up and over the cab and it fed through perfectly. Could hardly tell they were even there. They had a D6 in front to help pull the D8.
