Subject: Re: Old Buicks

SW Saskatchewan
The post about the starter under the gas pedal got me thinking about how we "expect" things to be.

My Dad had a 1912 Mclaughlan Buick with an electric start- first car to have it. The starter "button" was a steel lever about a foot long mounted on the dash board(a piece of oak 1x8) that opened and closed a real man sized switch.

A long way to my father in laws LeSabre with the battery hid under the rear seat because they don't want to admit such things exist.

But the antennae under the running board- kinda like the antennae in the windshield yhat never worked.

But those ideas never came engineers- right NVdave?
