I think the sealing depends on the soil and the soil moisture. If its wet, its hard to close the slot and seal in the NH3. If its dry and the shanks pull up clods, then it does not seal either. The biggest problem is the packer tires, many of them don't close the slot well enough to seal NH3 on either end of the moisture range.

Despite NH3 being +/- 25% cheaper (mentioned above) how much more expensive is it if you lose 50% !!

Mid row banders pull hard, depending on the cart and brand, probably 10hp/ft
