Subject: Why not sample earlier & also tissue sample?

Little River, TX

Why not pull soil samples during the growing season, at a time to pull tissue samples?
note: I have a poor opinion as to the reliability of soil testing results.

Granted this involves planning ahead, and making fertility decisions months if not years ahead.

Tissue analysis has it's restrictions also but it is far more reliable than soil analysis results. Tissue analysis is the only reliable, remotely accurate, test for micro nutrients, as well as for sulfur.

Seldom do we hear of soil testing that is not a just in time panic operation that requires a quick turn around. Personally I do not put my soil's lab under a time gun as I will not be looking close at the results for another few months to maybe a year, or more.
