No the head sits on there really nice. There is just enough tilt that the top bar is about 4"-5" back from the bottom of the header. So when you pick it up it swings up without the bottom of the feederhouse near the bar. I don't have real clear one but below is a link to some pictures with the head on it.

You could also just expand and drill those brackets to put more of an angle on if you needed.
