Here are some pictures of ours. Nothing pretty but they certainly get the heads to the fields. I agree that the support under the cutterbar needs to be as long as the head is wide. We have some with poles and some with pipe, both work fine but personally I prefer the pole. I'm told the pipe 'looks better'. It's a bit of a tradeoff between lenghtening the reach and lenghtening the tongue, you need to do some of both but not too much of either one.
