Typical buffalo ridge weather.
Actually by chisel plowing bean stubble with plenty of residue one helps water infiltration, and incoporates fertilizer and helps curb erosion. He is pretty flat, but on some of out hills we chisel across the slopes or if it sandy we just don't chisel it.
I bet when he field cultivates this field in the spring he has trouble plugging his mulcher like i do.
With 60 bu beans and 200 bu corn there is LOTS of residue.
