Tim, we've got a 750 that we bought last year. We planted 15 acres of conventional tillage with it (wheat cover crop behind cantaloupes), and it worked fine. I wasn't there when Blake did it, so I don't know, but he probably didn't even back off the down pressure. I'd say ease way off the downpressure and go for it.

Edit: Just looked on JD's parts website, and they do call it an 'all-till' drill.
