I've never figured out the religious fervor some work up over notill. 

It's a farming practice.  Believe it or not, there are quite a few of those.  Funny how if you go into an area you almost always find at least 80% of the people doing things pretty close to the same way, regarless of what way that is.   Doesn't it seem strange that everyone in one area would be an "idiot" and not smart enough to do everything the way you do, 400 miles away?   Or perhaps, and here's a radical thought, perhaps they know what they hell they are doing, and the guy 400 miles away is the one who doesn't have a clue.
