The 4000 Series John Deere compact tractor below the 4200 on down were all manufactured by Yanmar for John Deere in Japan. They are indeed as close as you can get to a bullet proof machine. These tractors are on the light side with respect to pto hp. The 4100 approx. 17 hp. Is this a gear or hydrostatic drive 4100? If you can find a Deere 4115, they are a little newer tractor and a bit more hp. and about the same size.
