I cannot keep a carpenter's pencil, cheap ink pen, or Sharpie handy for longer than about 2 minutes when I am building something. I can hear my Mom's comment from years ago every time "And I suppose they just grow little legs and run off." The CFO does a better job keeping one handy but that is only because I am not allowed to scrounge through the desk or her purse for a marking instrument.
