Near-north Ontario, French River
What are the dimensions of the box you want to tarp? If its just a 15 ft long gravity box you dont have to get too fancy. Get some flat bar and slide it into the pocket in the tarp ( assuming you had pockets formed on the sides of the tarps ). 2in x 1/8 flat bar is more then sufficient to anchor the tarp securely/tightly to one side of the box. When you mount it be sure to add two vertical strips of flat bar stops, to allow the tarp to be 'cradled' when rolled up . On the "free" side of the tarp all you need is a piece of 3/4 pipe inserted into the pocket. On one end of this pipe wield on a short piece of 1 1/4" sqaure tube. This square tubes is to allow you to insert the crank , and roll up the tarp. Go to you local truck shop and pick up a pair of racket straps and about 6 ft of strap . Mount th.e rachets in a convenient location on the wagon. To attach the straps you can ever have them sewn to the tarp , or using teh screws just fasten them directly to the pipe. You say you already have the tarps, so you already got the expensive bits, The rachet, straps, flat bar and pipe shouldnt cost you more then another $75 to do a wagon. If your box is longer then 15 ft it get a lil more complicated in that you prolly should form some sort of hoops over the box to help support the tarp and aid in shedding water etc, all that entails is getting some 3/4 pipe and bending it into a arc, and fastening it to the box ( either weld it , or bolt it down)
