I have an 8670 Genesis with a transmission problem: It started while going down the road when it woudn't go at a stop sign. It woldn't go forward or in reverse or do anything.  We towed it back to the farm and now it will move, in F1,2,3 then it won't go in 4 o r 5, but will go again when you upshif to 6.  It does the same thing in 11 (or maybe it's 10?) and skips a reverse or two. The display shows it in 4 or 5, but the tractor isn't moving.  It sounds like a solenoid isn't getting power, to me.  Any ideas where to start looking for a problem?  It's a 94 model, if that matters.

We had the same problem last spring, but it decided to work and made it through 1/2 of planting and spraying seasons -- and now it is down again and didn't seem to correct itself.

I'm not sure if it had any fault codes -- I wasn't at the farm when Dad had the shop come out to get it for repair and had the fault code display turned off.
