We have stalks, but they are just an apparition. The extreme heat last summer caused them to cannibalize themselves, and now they are just a very thin shell. A little kid could pinch them between his fingers. I have never seen this till now. When they dry up, they turn to a very ugly brown dust when the corn head hits them.
