It sure wouldn't be my first choice of machines, especially for a stick machine. $2200- is a large chunk of money for a stick machine.

As a TIG machine, it leaves a lot to be desired in that price range too, like a foot controller. The jury still seems to be out on Miller's touch start, and the duration of that feature working under field conditions.

The 280 looks to be a first generation machine for Miller, employing an inverter supply, and Miller just doesn't have a wonderful track record on first generation machines, starting with their attempt to upgrade the MM 200 to the MM 250. They definitely have a shyt record of admitting they bred a bad horse, and correcting their mistakes for the poor bustard who bought one.

Frankly, I fail to see any attraction to that machine. What do you see about it that trips your trigger?
