Where you are located, winter canola might be an option - it is less winter-hardy than winter wheat, especially if there is poor snow cover or wet feet. You are far enough west that sulphur should definitely be part of the fertilizer program - 20-25 lb/ac of S as sulphate. You can get this by applying some of the N as ammonium sulphate rather than urea. | |
