| I was searching for some 20" and 22.5" wheels to install truck tires on gravity wagons insted of those 12 ply tires that come apart every other year. AND wheels that were designed too light and split the edges off, OR I cant fill to top of wagon and go 2/3 loaded and more trips. Stopped by a friends office at a 'Goodyear" store yesterday and he said, "Dont put those tin wheels from irrigation rigs on wagons, you need heavier rims. Got me to thinking, we didnt discuss my wagon size (300 bu. cap.) and I have a couple irrigation wheels and they 'seem' pretty hefty. Has anyone used irrigation wheels on wagons?? Do the lighter wheels fail?? Where is it stamped on the wheels what rating they are??Visible when a tire is on?? I always thought irrigation rigs were heavy and would require a heavy wheel also, especially with the side pull they get all around the field!! | |
