The stops on the front axles of the 50 series can be set closer than what the op manual says...at least on our 4450, it doesn't hurt to set the stops closer so the tire will miss the frame, and the fenders will hit the frame but flex out of the way. We have run ours that way for almost 6000 hours, and it has barely worn any paint off the frame where the fenders hit. I also set the fender mount out as far as possible and still cover the inside edge of the tire tread. There will probably be some differences on the heavy frame 46/48 versus our 4450 frame.
