Example of how things differ depending on location. A single pit at a feedlot down the road holds 6.5 Million bushel of high moisture corn. They have 2 or more mills operating depending on traffic. Each mill can handle 28,000 bu/hr. Will be several (4-8) four wheel drives on pile at a time. Some years when corn matures at same time over a big area there will be over 100 combines feeding the machines. Mills will never go dry and there is corn in the air at all times. Mills shoot a stream of ground corn as tractors drive into stream and grab a blade full as they head to the top never slowing down and never backing up. Thank god for cabs.
